Test applicants’ typing, 10-key and data-entry skills with a link

Create a test in a minute, send candidates an invite link, and see net WPM, accuracy and KPH on a dashboard, with integrity flags on every attempt. No candidate accounts. Results hidden from candidates unless you share them.

How it works

  1. Create a test. Choose the type (typing, 10-key or data-entry), the duration (1, 3 or 5 minutes), whether backspace is allowed, and optional pass marks (minimum net WPM and minimum accuracy). Give it a name like “Claims Processor – Oct 2026”.
  2. Create an invite link for each candidate. Enter the candidate's name and email if you want them on the record, choose how long the link stays valid (3 to 30 days), and optionally require an access code so the link alone is not enough. Paste the link into your email or applicant-tracking system.
  3. Candidates take it in the browser. They open the link, enter the access code if required, read a short instruction screen, and start. No account, no download, works in any modern desktop browser.
  4. Review the dashboard. Each result shows net WPM, gross WPM, accuracy, KPH, errors, integrity flags, pass or fail against your pass marks, and the date. You can generate the signed certificate for any result or delete it.

Three test types

Typing on plain prose, scored in gross and net WPM with accuracy. 10-key on the numeric keypad, scored in KPH. Data entry on alphanumeric records keyed into fields, scored in KPH and field accuracy.

Invite links and access codes

One link per candidate, each tied to a test. Add an access code to stop forwarding and set how long the link is valid. The invite list shows which links are still pending and which are completed, so you know who has not finished.

Results hidden from candidates

Candidates see a “thank you, submitted” screen, not a score. You decide whether to share results, and you can issue a signed certificate to a candidate afterwards if you want them to have one.

Integrity flags

Every attempt is checked for: paste attempts (blocked and logged), repeatedly leaving the tab, unnaturally even keystroke rhythm, impossibly fast keystrokes, bursts of keystrokes, extreme speed, finishing early, long pauses, and use of a touch device. Flags are shown next to the score, not hidden in a report.

Signed certificates

Each attempt has a signed record and a verification link at /verify/. If a candidate forwards a certificate to another employer later, that employer can check it against the record. Read how the certificate works.

CSV export coming

Export of a test's results to CSV for your ATS or spreadsheet is on the roadmap and not available yet. Results are shown in a table on the dashboard today.

What you see on the dashboard

Each test page lists its results in a table: candidate, net WPM, gross WPM, accuracy, KPH, errors, integrity flags, pass or fail (if you set pass marks) and date. For typing tests the WPM columns are the ones to read; for 10-key and data-entry tests, read KPH and accuracy. Below the results, the invite list shows every link you created with its status (pending or completed), access code and expiry, so you can see who has not yet taken the test.

Keystroke-level data is reduced to summary statistics on the server; we do not store the sequence of what was typed. See the privacy policy for exactly what is retained.

Honest limits

  • Not webcam-proctored. There is no camera, no screen recording and no identity check. The integrity flags make casual cheating visible; they do not prove who typed. If identity assurance matters, retest finalists on a video call or in person, or use a proctored provider for that step.
  • Browser-based. Results depend on the candidate's keyboard and device. We tell candidates to use a physical keyboard and, for 10-key, a numeric keypad, and an attempt made on a touch device is flagged, but we cannot control their hardware.
  • Not a substitute for a public-sector proctored certificate. If your agency's policy requires a proctored test, our results will not satisfy it, though you can use the tool for internal screening.
  • Early product. Features are being added and CSV export is not there yet. We will tell you before anything affecting your data changes.

Setting a fair cut-off

Before you create a test, decide what you are measuring: prose typing (WPM), numeric entry (10-key KPH) or record entry (data-entry KPH). Then pick the lowest score at which someone can do the job comfortably and add a small margin. Our guides list commonly cited ranges for WPM by role, 10-key KPH and data-entry KPH and accuracy. Use the same test and settings for every applicant to a role.

Pricing

Free for up to 5 candidate tests a month and 2 active tests, enough to try it on one hire. Starter is $29 a month for 100 candidate tests, Team is $79 a month for 500, and a one-time $19 pack adds 10 tests that never expire. Candidates never pay. Full details on the pricing page.

Getting started

Sign in at /employer/ with Google or with a one-time link sent to your email. There is no password to create. Your first test takes about a minute to set up, and you can try the candidate side yourself before sending it to anyone.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the employer tool cost?

Free for up to 5 candidate tests a month. Paid plans start at $29 a month for 100 candidate tests, or a $19 pack of 10. See pricing.

Do candidates need an account?

No. They open your invite link, enter their name (and the access code if you set one), and take the test in the browser. They never see a sign-up form.

Can candidates see their score?

Not by default. Results go to your dashboard only. You can choose to share a result or issue a certificate to a candidate afterwards.

Is the test proctored?

No. There is no webcam or screen recording. Each attempt records integrity signals such as paste attempts, repeatedly leaving the tab, unnaturally even keystroke rhythm and impossibly fast keystrokes, which help you spot problems but do not prove who was typing. For roles where identity matters, retest finalists in person or on a video call.

How do I sign in?

With your Google account or with a one-time link emailed to you. There is no password to create or store.

Can I export results?

CSV export is on the roadmap and not yet available. Today you can view results on the dashboard and generate a signed certificate for any result.
