Numbers only, on the numeric keypad. Scored in keystrokes per hour (KPH) with accuracy, the way 10-key and accounts-payable roles are usually assessed. How 10-key scoring works.
Alphanumeric records such as names, addresses, codes and amounts, typed into form fields. Scored in KPH and field-level accuracy. What data-entry tests measure.
When you finish a test you can enter your name and generate a certificate. It shows the test type, the duration, your speed, your accuracy, the date, and a verification URL. There is no watermark to remove and nothing to pay.
The result is stored on our server together with a signature computed over the recorded values. The certificate you print or save is a view of that record, not the record itself. If someone edits the PDF or the screenshot to raise the WPM, the number on the paper no longer matches what the verification page shows.
Each certificate has a URL under techtypo.com/verify/. An employer opens it and sees the recorded name, scores and timestamp. It is a normal link, not a QR code or an app, so it works in an email, an applicant-tracking system, or printed on paper and typed by hand.
The certificate attests that a browser-based test with this result was completed under this name. It is not a proctored exam, and some public-sector employers only accept proctored certificates. Our typing certificate guide explains who accepts online certificates and who does not, and our note on “official” typing tests explains the categories.
Create a typing, 10-key or data-entry test in a minute, send candidates an invite link (optionally protected by an access code), and review net WPM, accuracy and KPH on a dashboard. Candidates take the test in their browser with no account and do not see their score unless you choose to share it.
Each attempt records integrity signals: paste attempts, repeatedly leaving the tab, and keystroke rhythm that looks mechanical. You can set pass marks and see pass or fail at a glance. It is not webcam proctoring, and we say so plainly on the employer page.
Useful reading before you set a cut-off score:
Yes. The typing test, 10-key test and data-entry test are free for candidates, and so is the certificate. You do not need an account to take a test or to get a certificate.
Every certificate carries a verification URL under techtypo.com/verify/. Opening that link shows the name, test type, duration, speed and accuracy that were recorded when the test finished. The result is signed when it is issued, so a certificate that has been edited will not match the record and verification fails.
No. The tests run in a normal desktop browser. A physical keyboard is strongly recommended, and the 10-key test expects a numeric keypad.
The employer tool is free during early access. Pricing will be announced before any paid plans start, and existing results stay accessible.
